Jeff Brooks -
CEO, director
Jeff is a 7 year veteran of the JPEG2000 industry, previously
performing business development for ImagePower, an industry
pioneer in JPEG2000 technology. His role included large client
acquisition and business capitalization activities.
Prior to
ImagePower, Jeff was president/CEO of Bigcargo, a startup
company in the online airfreight forwarding business. He was
also a founder of an outdoor adventure company, started while in
university.
Jeff earned a
bachelor's degree in chemistry from Dalhousie University in
Halifax, Nova Scotia. |

Rick Wang - CTO, director
Rick is an expert in image compression algorithms and their
application within video formats. He designed and implemented
the world's first Motion JPEG2000 codec for the RealNetworks
Real Player in 2001.
Prior to
BroadMotion, he was chief software engineer at Merlin
Technologies and oversaw design and development of their DVR
(digital video recorder) products.
Rick earned a
bachelor's degree and a master's degree in electrical engineering with a specialization
in image compression technology, both from Fudan University in
Shanghai, China. |

Chris Komnick -
VP of business development, director
Chris has over 17 years of experience working with various
software and hardware technology businesses, from startups to
public companies.
Most recently he was vice president of business development for
Schema Software which was acquired by Apple Corporation in
February 2005. Previously, Mr. Komnick was a vice president for
Stellent Corporation where he performed a wide-array strategic
planning activities for its OEM technologies group.
Chris earned a bachelor’s
degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree in business
administration from Miami University. |

Harry Mathias -
VP of digital cinema
Harry
is an industry recognized expert in digital cinema and has spent
the past six year defining its technical standards.
He has over
25 years experience in technical cinematography and the
entertainment industry, most recently as director of digital
cinema technology for NEC. Previously he was director of digital
cinema for Barco, director of motion picture technology for
Schneider Optics and senior consultant to Panavision.
Harry earned a bachelor’s and a
master’s degree from San Francisco State University. He is a
long term member of SMPTE and a founding member of DC-28 Digital
Cinema Standards. He is the author of Electronic
Cinematography, holder of multiple patents in technical
cinema and an Academy Award nominee. |

Board of Advisors
Michael Adams
Recognized as one of the
foremost experts on JPEG2000, Michael is an active participant on
the JPEG2000 standardization effort and the principal author of
JasPer, one of the first JPEG2000 implementations.
Bruce Stewart
Bruce has over 30 years of
experience in business and IT management in both the public and
private sectors. He served as a vice president for the research
advisory firm Gartner Inc. and recently concluded an engagement with
the META Group, Inc. where he served as senior vice president.
Tyler Barrs -
Corporate Council
Tyler currently serves as the
general counsel for Boston Pizza International Inc. Prior to that he
was vice president of content and legal affairs with StockHouse
Media Corporation, an online financial services media company. Tyler
has taught numerous courses in intellectual property licensing law
at the University of British Columbia.
